The Teen Wise Approach

Teen Wise was created to fill a critical gap: the space between mental health therapy and everyday life. Many girls need tools, not treatment. They need someone who understands the social world of teen girls, including friendships, drama, and self-doubt, and who can help them build skills to navigate it all with confidence and clarity.

While therapy focuses on mental health diagnoses and emotional processing, Teen Wise coaching is skill-based, forward-thinking, and focused solely on the real-world challenges girls face. Our proprietary method combines social-emotional learning, cognitive-behavioral strategies, and positive psychology with over 30 years of experience working directly with teens.

Depending on your daughter’s needs, coaching can:

  • Provide a bridge to therapy, helping girls open up and gain self-awareness before beginning counseling.
  • Offer a powerful next step after therapy, turning insight into everyday skills and action.
  • Complement ongoing therapy by reinforcing emotional progress with practical, confidence-building strategies.
  • Offer targeted support when therapy doesn’t quite fit, especially for social struggles, self-esteem, or friendship issues.
  • Identify when therapy or additional support may be needed, ensuring every girl gets the right level of care.

At Teen Wise, we maintain confidentiality with your teen while keeping you informed about focus areas and growth milestones. We work closely with parents, therapists, school counselors, and other professionals so every girl receives coordinated and compassionate support.
