💭 The Story
When I first started working with a client a few years ago, she was just about to begin high school.
She was bright, kind, and deeply thoughtful but she truly believed she’d never make any friends.
She was shy.
And in her mind, that meant she wasn’t the kind of girl people wanted around.
We didn’t try to change her personality.
We didn’t tell her to be louder or more outgoing.
We worked on her beliefs.
Once she realized that being quiet doesn’t mean you can’t connect, everything changed.
She walked into school with a calm, grounded confidence and finally started building real friendships.
Her belief, not her personality, had been the biggest barrier.
💔 The Struggle You Might Recognize
If you’re a mom of a teen girl, you may have seen this story play out at home.
Your daughter might say:
“It’s too hard.”
“No one likes me.”
“I’m just not good at that.”
Or maybe she doesn’t say it out loud but you can feel it in her self-doubt, her withdrawal from friends, or her hesitance to try new things.
Those hidden beliefs don’t always sound dramatic, but they quietly shape everything her confidence, friendships, and ability to bounce back from challenges.
Beliefs become stories.
And those stories become the lens through which she sees herself and the world.
🌸 Helping Her Rewrite the Story
You can’t control what happens in her social world but you can help her rewrite the story she’s telling herself.
When moms learn how to respond with curiosity instead of pressure, it opens the door for growth.
When girls learn to question the “I’m not enough” story, they start to see what’s really true: they are enough just as they are.
That’s exactly what we’ll explore in this month’s live workshop:
